Russian retailer M.Video says TV and game console sales rose by 15% during the football World Cup compared with the previous month. The retailer’s data shows a split between what drove the most revenue and what sold the most units.

By revenue, the top five TV models were:

  • Hisense 55U7S
  • Hisense 50E7S
  • Hisense 43E7S
  • TCL 55C6K
  • TCL 55C7L

By units sold, the ranking looked different. The top five were:

  • Hi HT-32H01FB
  • Sber SDX-32H3113
  • Hisense 43E7S
  • Hisense 50E7S
  • Hisense 55U7S

According to the retailer, shoppers preparing for a run of matches tended to focus less on features and more on screen size and price, especially when replacing an older set. The strong showing from 32-inch models from Hi and Sber suggests broad demand for cheaper TVs aimed at kitchens, bedrooms, or summer homes.
