Starlink heads to 1,000 more planes in Indigo airline deal
Frontier Airlines will begin adding SpaceX’s Starlink in early 2027 as Indigo Partners extends the service across five airlines and about 1,000 aircraft.

Frontier Airlines is rolling out Starlink across its fleet, with the first aircraft equipped with SpaceX’s satellite internet system set to enter service in early 2027. The move is part of a broader Indigo Partners initiative that will bring SpaceX’s high-speed connectivity to roughly 1,000 aircraft in total.
According to the announcement, Frontier will become the first US airline to offer passengers access to Starlink internet through a new system operated directly by SpaceX.

The project also covers four other airlines in Indigo Partners' investment portfolio:
- Wizz Air
- Volaris
- JetSMART
- Cebu Pacific
Bill Franke, managing partner at Indigo Partners, said the Starlink rollout is intended to give passengers reliable, high-speed internet and improve onboard service across the group’s airlines.
