A possible display issue is surfacing on Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra just months after the flagship launched earlier this year.
As first reported by Korean outlet Newsway, via Phone Arena, some Galaxy S26 Ultra users online say a reddish tint has started taking over their phone displays. The phone debuted to strong reviews, including from Mashable, so if the reports hold up, the defect appears to have emerged within a few months of release.
Samsung told Newsway it is “currently examining the matter internally to confirm the cause.” Mashable said it also contacted Samsung’s mobile team for comment and would update its report if the company shares more information.
Right now, neither the cause nor the scale of the issue is clear. But online speculation has focused on Privacy Display, a new hardware feature available only on the Galaxy S26 Ultra. The feature dims the screen for people viewing it from an angle, making the display harder for nearby onlookers to read.
Because the reported problem appears limited to S26 Ultra devices so far, some users suspect Privacy Display could be involved. That remains unconfirmed.

Mashable noted that its own Galaxy S26 Ultra review unit has not shown the issue. The outlet also included an unavailable embedded post in its original story, but no additional verified details were provided.
For now, Samsung has acknowledged the reports only to say it is investigating the cause.
