Mail Cloud has added a new way to free up smartphone storage: a “Clean phone” section in its mobile app that removes photos and videos from the device after they’ve already been uploaded to the cloud.
According to the company, the feature works after the gallery has been synced. The app identifies photos and videos already stored in Mail Cloud and offers to delete their local copies from the phone while keeping the files محفوظة in cloud storage.
Users can also see how much storage those files occupy and quickly locate the largest items. The tool is available in the mobile app when automatic file upload is enabled.
To use it, users need to open the “Clean phone” section, where the app shows how much space could potentially be freed. Viktor Petrishchev, head of the Mail Cloud product line, said modern users increasingly run into storage shortages because of the growing number of photos and videos on their devices.
He said the new feature is meant to free up device memory without deleting important content from cloud storage, while also making media library management simpler.
