Galaxy S26 Ultra red screen issue draws Samsung probe
Samsung says it is investigating reports that some Galaxy S26 Ultra units develop a reddish tint in the center of the display after 2–3 months.

A few months after launch, some Galaxy S26 Ultra owners are reporting a reddish tint in the center of the screen. Samsung has acknowledged the complaints and says it has opened an internal investigation.
According to user reports cited by the source, the discoloration usually appears after two to three months of use, rather than immediately after purchase. That makes it different from the minor color variation sometimes seen on AMOLED panels. Samsung has previously said that broad red or yellow tints can often be corrected through settings, but this case appears to involve a more localized color shift.
One theory among users points to Privacy Display, a hardware-level feature on the S26 Ultra that narrows viewing angles to shield the screen from nearby onlookers. It is designed for private tasks such as checking banking apps or reading personal messages. Some owners suspect that the way the feature adjusts light output could lead to uneven wear or color changes over time.
So far, though, Samsung has not confirmed any link between the issue and Privacy Display, the panel design, or any specific production batches.
In a statement, the company said:
