Samsung is reportedly reshaping its next Galaxy Z foldable lineup, and the biggest production push is going to a new model: the Galaxy Z Fold8 Wide.

According to supply-chain sources cited by the original report, Samsung plans to produce about 2.8 million display panels for the Fold8 Wide. That is well ahead of the roughly 2 million panels planned for the standard model, which is expected to be renamed Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, and the roughly 1.5 million displays slated for the clamshell Galaxy Z Flip8.

The report says Samsung had previously intended to manufacture the Fold8 Ultra and Fold8 Wide in roughly equal volumes during the first three months after launch. That plan has now reportedly changed, with the company making the Wide version its primary bet.

Samsung has not officially confirmed either the specifications or the production volumes for its upcoming foldable phones.
