Samsung’s July 2026 Galaxy Unpacked event kicks off at 9AM ET / 6AM PT from London, with the company expected to roll out a new wave of foldables led by the Galaxy Z Fold 8. According to the source, Samsung is also expected to introduce an upgraded Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra with a larger battery, alongside a refreshed Galaxy Z Flip 8.
Rumors cited by The Verge also point to new wearables, including the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 and Galaxy Watch 9.
The Verge’s Dominic Preston, reporting from the event, said the pre-show atmosphere was heavy on hints rather than product details.
“I’m at Galaxy Unpacked ready for Samsung’s new foldable. So far it’s mostly teasing novel ways of slicing pizza, but presumably it’ll all make sense soon.”
A separate Verge preview says Samsung’s next foldables are expected to be the stars of the show, with a major redesign tipped for the Galaxy Z Fold 8.

Another Verge piece argues the event could mark Samsung’s most significant foldable refresh in years. Beyond updated Fold and Flip models, Samsung is reportedly preparing a new shorter, wider Fold design. If that appears, it would represent the second major shift in Samsung’s foldable lineup in less than 12 months, following last year’s Galaxy Z TriFold.
The competitive pressure is clear in The Verge’s framing: with Apple’s first foldable iPhone said to be on the horizon, Samsung is under pressure to do more than iterate.
