Samsung has begun internal testing of One UI 9 based on Android 17 for the Galaxy A34, expanding the list of phones preparing for the update. The news comes from leaker Tarun Vats, who said he found the first test build on Samsung’s server.
For the Galaxy A34 (SM-A346E), the firmware listed carries build number A346EXXUFGZG8/A346EODMFGZG8/A346EXXUFGZG8. That indicates Samsung has officially started work on the new software version for the device’s international variant.
The appearance of early test builds usually suggests that a public beta is getting closer, though Samsung has not announced any official release timing for One UI 9 on the Galaxy A34.
According to the report, One UI 9 is expected to bring more than visual interface changes. The update is said to include new AI-based features and expanded security settings, with a particular focus on optimizing foldable displays and offering more flexible multitasking controls.

iXBT notes that Samsung had previously been reported to be internally testing One UI 9.0 on other Galaxy devices as well. The outlet also points to Tarun Vats' earlier track record, saying he accurately reported that the One UI 8.0 beta would arrive earlier than expected and revealed the release dates of the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S25, while also regularly reporting the rollout of new One UI 8.5 versions.
