SanDisk has launched CFexpress 4.0 Type B cards on JD.com in China, with up to 4TB capacity, 3,700 MB/s reads, and a $4,400 top model.

SanDisk has started selling new CFexpress 4.0 Type B memory cards on JD.com in China, with capacities ranging from 128GB to 4TB. The new cards offer read speeds of up to 3700 MB/s and write speeds of up to 3500 MB/s.
The cards use a PCIe Gen4 interface, and the 2TB and 4TB models support a minimum sustained write speed of up to 3100 MB/s. According to the source, that is enough for continuous recording of 8K and even 12K video on professional cinema cameras and mirrorless cameras.
The lineup includes 128GB, 256GB, 400GB, 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB versions. Pricing starts at about $520 for the 128GB model, while the flagship 4TB card is priced at $4400.

SanDisk says the cards are protected against drops from heights of up to 5 meters, can withstand loads of up to 7 kg, and support Smartidle, a technology that automatically switches the card into a lower-power state when idle. The new models are compatible with CFexpress Type B devices and card readers and ship with a limited lifetime warranty.
These cards are aimed squarely at professional photographers and videographers who need maximum speed and large-capacity storage for high-bitrate video workflows.
