Tesla’s $225 kids bike is already flipping for $1,200
Tesla is selling a $225 balance bike for children aged two to five, with preorders opening July 31 for existing vehicle owners only.

Tesla’s latest vehicle has two wheels, no motor, and a $225 price tag. The company has unveiled a Balance Bike for Kids aimed at children aged two to five.
According to Tesla, the bike has a lightweight magnesium frame, an adjustable seat, a “futuristic design,” and supports riders up to 35 kg. That pricing puts it near the top end of the market for balance bikes. Cycling Weekly recommends the Hornit Airo at £139, though there are many cheaper alternatives for parents introducing toddlers to riding.
It is an unusual product for a company best known for electric cars, even if there is some historical precedent: Morris and Triumph both started out in the bicycle business.
Preorders open on July 31, but Tesla says only existing Tesla vehicle owners can buy one. Some units are already appearing on auction sites. The Register said it spotted one listing on eBay for $1,200 plus shipping from the US — a steep markup for a toddler bike.
The paper frames that resale premium as consistent with past Elon Musk merchandise frenzies, noting that another Musk venture once drew buyers to a $500 “flamethrower” that was effectively a blowtorch. This time, the product is a child-sized balance bike — and at least one reseller is betting Tesla fans will pay four figures for it.
