Tesla has launched a $225 balance bike for children aged 2 to 5 — and it sold out immediately.

The bike is as minimal as it sounds: no motor, no pedals, and no brakes. It runs entirely on toddler leg power and uses a lightweight white magnesium frame with a five-way adjustable seat, a Tesla wordmark on the side, and the T logo on the front. Tesla did not say how many units were available.

At $225, it sits at the top end of the balance bike market. Most rivals sell for under $100. One of the few pricier options, the Woom 1 at $249, at least includes brakes. Tesla is also selling a matching balance bike T-shirt for $30.

This is not Tesla’s first children’s product. The company has previously sold the $1,500 ride-on Cybertruck for Kids, the $1,650 Cyberquad ATV, and a wind-up Cybercab toy. The Cyberquad was previously recalled for violating ATV safety standards.

What many Tesla fans have wanted instead is an adult e-bike, but Elon Musk has said he considers bikes dangerous after a teenage accident and will not make one.

For Tesla, merchandise remains a small side business next to its core car operation, which the source says beat revenue expectations by 18%. The balance bike may not be the electric bike fans were hoping for, but it still disappeared from Tesla’s store right away.
