Microsoft’s latest Windows 11 Patch Tuesday is a big one: it fixes at least 570 security holes, nearly triple the number addressed in last month’s record-breaking release, according to Krebs on Security. It also brings a notable quality-of-life change: users can now keep postponing updates beyond the usual 35-day pause window.

Microsoft had already tested the feature with Windows Insiders earlier this year, and Windows Central previously reported on it. The option lets users pause updates for up to 35 days at a time and then continue extending that deadline afterward.

The release is part of Microsoft’s broader effort to refresh Windows 11 by addressing long-standing user complaints and improving performance. Alongside the security fixes, Microsoft says users should expect more vulnerability patches in future releases as the company uses AI to identify security issues.

Also included are features Microsoft previewed last month in the optional June update for build KB5101650. Among them is Point-in-time restore, a new recovery feature that can return a PC — including apps, settings, and files — to an earlier state.

Other additions in this build include:

  • more customization options for Widgets
  • a more precise Magnifier tool
  • improved stability for some Bluetooth devices

Microsoft has published the full changelog on its website.
