ZTE has introduced the G5 Max WiFi 5G CPE, a new 5G router built for both home and outdoor use. The device comes in an IP65-rated enclosure, can operate in temperatures from -40 to +55 °C, and is designed for mounting on walls or poles.
It is based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon X75 modem and supports a wide range of 5G and 4G LTE bands, including n79. For stronger reception, ZTE uses 13 dBi antennas and 4x4 MIMO technology. The router supports both 4FF SIM cards and eSIM.
One of the standout features is a 2.5GbE port with Power over Ethernet (PoE) support, allowing both power and data to run over a single Ethernet cable without a separate outdoor power source.
For wireless networking, the router supports Wi-Fi 7 (IEEE 802.11be) with peak speeds of up to 3.6 Gbit/s. It can connect up to 64 devices at the same time, while remaining compatible with older Wi-Fi standards.
Management is handled through the ZTE Smart Life app, which includes remote monitoring, bandwidth allocation, parental controls, and support for L2TP and PPTP VPN protocols.
