Wink puts emergency alerts on screen during streaming
Wink now shows Russia’s EMERCOM alerts inside its app, targeted by user location and delivered without foreign push services.

Wink has started showing EMERCOM of Russia emergency alerts directly inside its streaming interface while people are watching content.
According to the report, emergency messages now appear as pop-ups based on a user’s location and are visible on active devices where Wink is open. Rostelecom says this is the first mechanism of its kind for Russian online cinemas.
The alerts are delivered through an integration with the EMERCOM of Russia app. Wink developed the message delivery scheme together with Rostelecom’s IT cluster, using a domestic solution rather than foreign push notification services.
That matters in a market where digital platforms are increasingly being used not just for entertainment, but also as channels for urgent information. The source notes that this is especially visible in Russia, where periodic mobile internet restrictions have made reliable delivery routes more important.

Wink also points to an offline viewing option. Users can download films and series to a device in advance and watch them without a network connection if service drops while traveling, at home, or during an operator outage.
