Apple has released release candidate builds for its next round of platform updates, including iPadOS 26.6, watchOS 26.6, tvOS 26.6, and the rest of the 26.6 lineup.
The new RC builds suggest public releases are close. In Apple’s beta process, a release candidate is typically the final version sent to testers before the software rolls out more broadly, and it usually matches the public build that follows shortly after.
That said, Apple sometimes finds last-minute bugs and issues a revised RC before launch. Barring that, the company’s iOS 26.6, iPadOS 26.6, macOS 26.6, and related updates should arrive in roughly the next week or so, according to the source.
These releases appear to be modest ones. So far, the 26.6 beta cycle has focused mainly on under-the-hood improvements rather than headline new features.
The RC rollout comes well ahead of Apple’s next major platform wave, which is expected this fall and includes iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS Golden Gate.
