Apple is rolling out notable updates to its Android apps today, with homescreen widgets leading the changes in both Apple TV and Apple Music.
Apple TV 2.5 adds three widgets built around the Continue watching carousel from the top of the app’s main tab. The Small widget shows one episode or movie, Medium shows two, and Large uses bigger artwork for the first item alongside a scrollable list for browsing. Tapping a title starts playback immediately.
The widgets are not resizable, and they match what’s already available on iOS. According to the report, Apple TV version 2.5 is rolling out now through the Google Play Store.

On the music side, Apple Music 6.5 is also rolling out widely today. That is a significant jump from version 5.2, and 9to5Google notes that Apple may be aligning Android version numbers with its iOS releases, where 26.5 is the current stable version on iPhone.
This update adds two new widgets:
- Pins for quick access to pinned items
- Live Radio to start radio playback without opening the dedicated tab
They join existing Apple Music widgets for Now Playing, Recently Played, Recommendations, and Top Charts.
The update also adds a new sharing option: users can now share songs, albums, playlists, and lyrics to WhatsApp.
