Chrome’s Gemini tools reach UK desktop users
Google is rolling out Gemini features in Chrome to Mac and PC users in the U.K., with iOS support due next month.

Google is rolling out Chrome’s latest Gemini features to Mac and PC users in the U.K., marked by a new “Ask Gemini” button with a sparkle icon in the browser’s upper-right corner.
According to Google, Gemini in Chrome can work across multiple tabs, making it useful for comparing and summarizing information from several websites at once. It also ties into Google Calendar, YouTube, Gmail, and Maps, so users can jump to a specific point in a YouTube video, schedule a meeting, or draft an email without leaving the page they are on.
The rollout also includes Nano Banana, a new AI tool that generates images from text prompts directly from Chrome’s sidebar. Google says these AI features will also come to iOS in the U.K. next month.
Users who do not want the feature can remove it by right-clicking the Ask Gemini button and selecting Unpin.
Gemini’s Chrome integration was initially limited to AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers. Google then expanded access to all desktop users in the U.S. in September 2025, followed by rollouts to more than 50 countries.
