DST-Ural’s FT7E hybrid tractor reaches Russian fields
DST-Ural showed its FT7E hybrid farm tractor in Altai Krai after 350 engine hours of testing, with serial production already underway in Chelyabinsk.

Chelyabinsk-based DST-Ural has brought its FT7E agricultural tractor with a hybrid powertrain to Altai Krai for All-Russian Field Day 2026, where the machine was tested on heavy ground that typically causes wheeled equipment to lose traction.
According to the company, the FT7E has already completed 350 engine hours of testing. On difficult sections, it maintained pulling power and avoided wheel slip. DST-Ural has also started serial production: the first batch consists of three tractors, and the company plans to assemble another nine in Chelyabinsk by the end of 2026.
That makes the launch notable for the Russian market, where heavy agricultural machinery is still dominated by conventional diesel platforms and hybrid designs remain uncommon.

The FT7E specifications include:
- Weight: 19 tons
- Ground pressure: 0.45 kgf/cm²
- Top speed: 23 km/h
- Engine: Weichai WP12G, 360 hp
- Fuel tank: 680 liters
- Hybrid layout: electromechanical transmission
The tractor also gets a panoramic cab, climate system, joysticks for mounted equipment control, front and rear cameras, engine overload protection, and the ARES intelligent engine management system.
DST-Ural has been producing road-construction and agricultural machinery since 1999. Its highest-volume model is the TM10 tracked tractor, used as a platform for heavy special-purpose equipment. The FT7E now joins that lineup as a more modern machine built specifically for the agricultural sector.
