Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 leak shows thinner case, bigger battery

Just days before Samsung Galaxy Unpacked in London, the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 has leaked again — this time in a set of official-looking renders posted by prolific leaker Evan Blass on Substack.

According to Mashable, the images reveal both the watch’s design and a slate of key specs. The leaked details include an IP69K dust- and water-resistance rating, an 800mAh battery, and a body said to be 12 percent thinner than the previous model.

If accurate, that battery would be a notable jump from the 590mAh cell in last year’s version. The display also appears set for a major upgrade, with leaked text pointing to 5,000 nits of peak brightness, up from 3,000 nits on the earlier watch.

That matches a previous leak claiming the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 would feature “a record-breakingly bright display.” The new wearable is also said to run on the Snapdragon Wear Elite chip.

Mashable notes that nearly all of these details line up with other recent leaks, suggesting Samsung’s next watch may already be mostly out in the open. There were about 48 hours left before Unpacked at the time of publication, and Mashable said it would attend the July 22 event in London with live updates on the announcements.
