Five years after it first became a Halloween phenomenon, Home Depot’s 12-foot Skelly is back with a new trick: it can talk.

Home Depot is launching its 2026 Halloween collection on July 16, including an updated version of the giant skeleton that has repeatedly gone viral and sold out whenever new stock appears. The new servo edition adds app-enabled controls that let owners customize head and mouth movements with servo motors and speak through the animatronic in real time over Bluetooth.

The company is also adding more personalization features. Owners can record up to 30 sounds for Skelly and choose from 20 LCD effects for its eyes, including heart eyes, giving it some use beyond Halloween.

The new version is priced at $379 and will be available online only. Given Skelly’s track record, Home Depot is signaling that it may sell out quickly.

For shoppers who don’t want the extra features, the original Skelly will still be available for its original price of $299. Home Depot is also rolling out the rest of its Halloween collection alongside the updated skeleton.
