macOS 27 Golden Gate appears to fix one of the Mac’s most persistent everyday annoyances: Messages falling briefly out of sync when you log in.
According to 9to5Mac, Apple has focused heavily on bug fixes and performance improvements in the new release. One noticeable result in the beta is how Messages syncing now works when a Mac comes online.
For years, a common frustration has been logging in to a Mac and immediately getting hit with notification alerts for messages that were already read on an iPhone or iPad. That issue stood out because Apple’s broader Continuity features — including Universal Clipboard, iPhone Mirroring, and Handoff — usually make moving between devices feel seamless.
In macOS Golden Gate, Apple says syncing is now handled more efficiently. That means the unread message count should be accurate right away after login, and users should no longer see alerts for conversations they have already opened elsewhere.
