Motorola has launched the Pad 70 Groove in India with a 12.1-inch display and a nine-speaker JBL-tuned setup ahead of wider sales in August.

Motorola has launched the Pad 70 Groove in India, with a wider release planned for August. The new Android tablet leans heavily into audio, packing nine JBL-tuned speakers: four tweeters, three woofers, and two passive radiators built into the back.
The tablet features a 12.1-inch display with 2.5K resolution and Dolby Vision, and Motorola appears to be positioning it for movie streaming and loud, room-filling playback. Speaker output is rated at 48W, and a built-in kickstand helps prop the device up so the rear-mounted speaker array is not firing directly into a table.
TechRadar notes that tablets and phones designed around audio often struggle to match even relatively affordable Bluetooth speakers, largely because portable devices do not offer the stereo separation needed for stronger sound. The Pad 70 Groove’s bulky rear speaker layout could also make it less practical as an everyday tablet.
There is also no word yet on global availability. TechRadar points out that other Moto Pad devices have remained India-only so far.

The design may look familiar. According to the report, the Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2 appears to use the same formula — a speaker-heavy tablet with a kickstand — and is already on sale for $399 / £369 (about AU$700). That overlap is less surprising given that Lenovo owns Motorola.
