Netflix says generative AI workflows have been used in roughly 300 titles in 2026 so far, a sign the company is expanding its use of the technology rather than treating it as a limited experiment.

The figure appeared in Netflix’s second-quarter shareholder letter, where the company said the biggest concentration of that work is in post-production. Netflix highlighted three projects that used generative AI to create what it called “highly complex sequences”:

  • Glory (India)
  • Brasil 70: A Saga do Tri (Brazil)
  • The American Experiment (US)

Netflix wrote that it is “increasingly leveraging these tools to deliver higher quality output more quickly and at a lower cost than traditional methods.”

The company has been public about its interest in AI for some time. Engadget notes that Netflix had already used generative AI in at least one original show as of last July, and since then it has continued building out those efforts through acquisitions and new specialized studios.

The latest disclosure makes clear that AI use at Netflix is no longer isolated to a handful of productions. By the company’s own account, it is now part of a broad production workflow, especially after filming wraps and projects move into finishing work.
