Microsoft will stop supporting OneDrive on Windows 10 22H1 starting August 15, 2026, according to a report highlighted by Neowin and cited by PCWorld. For users still on that version, the change means Microsoft will no longer guarantee that OneDrive remains compatible or fully functional after that date.
PCWorld says affected systems may still be able to sync files to Microsoft’s cloud storage service after the cutoff. But they will no longer receive new features, security updates, or bug fixes. If problems appear after August 15, 2026, they are unlikely to be addressed.

The path forward is straightforward: users who want to keep using OneDrive on Windows 10 should upgrade from 22H1 to 22H2 before the deadline. Systems running Windows 10 22H2 will continue to support OneDrive and receive updates until October 10, 2028.
That leaves older Windows 10 installations in a weaker position, with the risk of missing patches and unresolved issues tied to Microsoft’s cloud sync client. For people still relying on 22H1, the deadline is now clearly set: August 15, 2026.
