OnePlus exits West after five standout phones
With OnePlus leaving the US and Europe, these are TechRadar’s five best picks from the brand’s run, from the OnePlus One to the OnePlus 15.

After months of speculation, Oppo has confirmed that OnePlus devices are being pulled from the US and European markets. Existing customers will still get after-sales support and software updates, but no new phones, tablets, or smartwatches are coming to those regions.
Oppo is calling the move strategic, but TechRadar says the pressure was largely economic. OnePlus struggled to secure key carrier relationships in the US and faced heavy competition from Samsung, Apple, Google, and other Chinese manufacturers.
Founded in 2013, OnePlus built its reputation on strong hardware at aggressive prices. TechRadar’s list of its five best phones, ordered by release date, tracks how that pitch evolved over the years.

The OnePlus One (2014) set the tone. Marketed as a “flagship killer” with the “never settle” slogan, it paired a Snapdragon 801, 3GB of RAM, and CyanogenMod software with a price that TechRadar says was less than half that of Samsung’s flagship Galaxy at the time.
The OnePlus 7 Pro (2019) was the next major leap. Its standout feature was a pop-up selfie camera, which let OnePlus avoid a notch or cutout entirely. TechRadar also highlighted its performance, fast charging, 6.67-inch display, and 90 Hz refresh rate.
With the OnePlus Open (2023), TechRadar argues OnePlus may have been the first brand to get a foldable right across the board. The phone earned 4.5 out of 5 stars, with praise for its displays, cameras, and thin, light build, along with improvements to the hinge, crease, and OxygenOS folding experience.
The OnePlus 13 (2024) marked what TechRadar called a return to top-tier form. It combined a 6,000 mAh battery, Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, IP69 rating — a first for OnePlus — a 6.82-inch display, and triple-lens rear cameras. But US buyers still couldn’t find it in local carrier stores.
Finally, the OnePlus 15 (2025) earned a rare 5 out of 5 stars from TechRadar. The review praised its battery life, performance, design, software, and durability, framing it as proof that OnePlus was still making excellent phones even as its visibility in markets like the US remained limited by the lack of carrier retail presence.
For TechRadar, that is the sting in OnePlus' exit: the company’s international retreat comes not after a collapse in product quality, but after some of its strongest hardware.
