Qwen3.8 Preview Arrives Ahead of Open-Weight Release
Alibaba says Qwen3.8 has 2.4 trillion parameters and will go open-weight soon. A preview is now live on Token Plan, Qoder, and QoderWork.

Alibaba says Qwen3.8 is about to launch, with an open-weight release coming soon. According to the company, the model has 2.4 trillion parameters and is still being continuously updated.
In a post on X, Alibaba described Qwen3.8 as “one of the most powerful” models currently available, saying it is comparable with leading frontier models and second only to Fable 5. The company did not provide benchmarks or technical details in the announcement.
Developers do not have to wait for the full release to try it. Alibaba said Qwen3.8-Max-Preview is now available through:
- Alibaba’s Token Plan
- Qoder
- QoderWork
Alibaba also shared Token Plan pricing links for both international users and users in China:

The company framed the preview as an early chance for developers to start building with the model before the wider launch and open-weight release lands.
