Redmi 17 4G surfaces with 7,500mAh battery

Redmi appears to be preparing another budget phone built around one simple pitch: long battery life. The Redmi 17 4G has surfaced in the European EPREL database, and the standout spec is hard to miss — a 7,500mAh battery.

Large batteries are no longer unusual in the low-cost segment. Tecno, Infinix, Honor, and other brands already ship budget models with 5,000mAh to 6,000mAh cells, while Chinese phone makers keep pushing higher to stand out in a category where chipsets and cameras often look very similar. Even so, 7,500mAh in a mainstream phone clearly signals a focus on endurance over a slim design.

The EPREL listing points to these specs:

The European listing adds one more notable detail: Redmi claims the battery will retain more than 80% of its capacity after 1,000 charge cycles. For a budget phone, that is a meaningful promise, especially for buyers frustrated by devices that lose stamina after a year of use.

EPREL also estimates battery life at 73 hours 54 minutes on a single charge. Based on renders, the device is expected in at least four colors: Deep Blue, Black, Oak Green, and possibly Lotus Purple.

Pricing has not been announced. If these details hold, the Redmi 17 4G will enter a crowded budget market where Xiaomi, its sub-brands, vivo, realme, Samsung, and other Chinese rivals are all competing with big batteries and large displays.
