Russians are repairing gadgets more often than buying new ones
Avito says repair demand rose in summer 2026, led by power tools and small kitchen appliances as consumers cut spending.

Repair demand is rising as Russians look to cut costs instead of replacing broken devices. According to Avito Services, summer 2026 saw the sharpest year-over-year growth in requests to fix power tools and small household appliances.
The fastest-growing category was power tool repair. Requests for jigsaw repairs were up 86%, followed by oscillating multi-tools at 84%, screwdrivers and electric planers at 79%, and rotary hammers at 75%.
Among household appliances, repair demand increased most for meat grinders at 48%, kitchen hoods at 39%, food processors at 35%, coffee machines at 33%, and mixers at 30%.

By total number of requests in June, air conditioners and split systems led the market, accounting for about 6% of all inquiries. Owners most often booked maintenance, cleaning, freon refills, and diagnostics.
They were followed by smartphones and tablets with 3% of requests, where screen, glass, and component replacement were the most common services. Refrigerators and freezers held the same share. The top five most in-demand categories also included washing and drying machines, as well as TVs, where diagnostics remained the most common service.
