Samsung’s next Galaxy Unpacked event is set for Wednesday, July 22 in London, with the livestream starting at 9 a.m. ET. Based on leaks and Samsung’s own teasers, the company is expected to announce at least five new devices—led by a new trio of foldables.

The likely lineup includes:

  • Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8
  • Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8
  • Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra
  • Samsung Galaxy Watch 9
  • Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2

According to Mashable, the foldable naming is the confusing part this year. Reports suggest the Z Fold 8 may actually be a new, wider book-style model, while the true follow-up to the Z Fold 7 could arrive as the Z Fold 8 Ultra.

Price increases also look likely. South Korean outlet SEDaily reportedly pegged the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra at $2,099, up $100 from the Galaxy Z Fold 7, while the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide is said to start at $1,899.99. Leaker Lanzuk, via PhoneArena, has suggested the Galaxy Z Flip 8 will start at $1,199, also a $100 increase.

Rumored specs point to the Z Fold 8 using a Snapdragon Elite 8 Gen 5 for Galaxy, with 12GB RAM, 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB of storage, a 7.6-inch main display, a 5.5-inch cover display, and cameras including a 50MP primary lens, 50MP ultra-wide lens, and 10MP selfie lens. Elsewhere in the report, Mashable notes rumors of a 5.4-inch outer display and 7.8-inch inner display with a 4:3 aspect ratio.

For the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, leaked specs cited by Mashable and PhoneArena include a Snapdragon Elite 8 Gen 5 for Galaxy, 12GB or 16GB RAM, 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB storage, an 8-inch main display, a 6.5-inch cover display, and a camera array led by a 200MP wide sensor, plus 50MP ultra-wide and 12MP telephoto lenses. Mashable also says Samsung is expected to reduce the visibility of the display crease and make the phone slightly lighter than the Fold 7.

Samsung has already teased a new Flex Titanium technology for its upcoming foldables. The company says a titanium-alloy film and titanium plate will better support the flexible display, improving durability and reducing the crease.

The Z Flip 8 is expected to look a lot like the Z Flip 7, but with an upgraded chip and a less visible crease. Reported specs include either a Samsung Exynos 2600 or Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, 12GB RAM, a 6.9-inch main display, a 4.1-inch cover display, 256GB or 512GB of storage, and cameras consisting of a 50MP main sensor, 12MP ultra-wide, and 10MP selfie camera.

Watches and Galaxy Glasses rumors

Samsung is also expected to refresh its wearables with the Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2. Mashable says changes will probably be incremental, with updated health features and some design tweaks. The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 is rumored to add classic numbers on the watch face, a thinner bezel, and improved side buttons. A new Galaxy Watch Classic does not appear likely this year.

A wildcard for the event is Galaxy Glasses. Mashable reports that Samsung’s smart glasses may finally make an appearance after being previewed alongside Google efforts earlier this year. The company is working with Warby Parker and Gentle Monster on designs, and the glasses are expected to focus on onboard cameras and a built-in Google Gemini assistant rather than augmented reality or heads-up display features.

If Samsung sticks to its usual schedule, preorders should open immediately after the keynote, with retail availability following 1-2 weeks later.
