SpaceX launches 56 Starlink satellites in under 8 hours

SpaceX sent up two Falcon 9 rockets from opposite US coasts just 7 hours 42 minutes apart, adding 56 new Starlink satellites to orbit.

SpaceX pulled off two Falcon 9 launches in less than eight hours, sending a total of 56 Starlink satellites into orbit from opposite sides of the US.

The first mission lifted off from Vandenberg in California, where a Falcon 9 deployed 27 Starlink satellites. Just 7 hours 42 minutes later, another Falcon 9 launched from Florida, carrying an additional 29 satellites.

That means SpaceX completed two separate launches from different US coasts in under eight hours while expanding the Starlink constellation by 56 spacecraft.

Earlier, SpaceX also officially unveiled the next-generation Starlink V5 satellite terminal. The device is smaller and lighter than the previous model and is said to use less power.
