Soyuz MS-29 has successfully docked with the Prichal module on the Russian segment of the International Space Station after a super-fast trip from Baikonur Cosmodrome. ISS commander Sergey Kud-Sverchkov also shared images captured from aboard the station during the spacecraft’s final approach.
The Soyuz-2.1a launch vehicle lifted off on July 14 at 17:48 Moscow time. About nine minutes later, the spacecraft reached orbit after separating from the rocket’s third stage.
The flight used a two-orbit rendezvous profile, cutting the journey to the station to just a few hours.
The crew includes Roscosmos cosmonauts Pyotr Dubrov and Anna Kikina, along with NASA astronaut Anil Menon. The expedition is scheduled to last 261 days.
