SpaceX’s Starlink V5 terminal is significantly smaller than the previous Standard V4, with dimensions of 384 x 306 mm versus 594 x 383 mm on the older model. That puts the new satellite dish much closer in size to the Starlink Mini.

Despite the smaller footprint, the new terminal still delivers data speeds of more than 375 Mbit/s, according to earlier details cited by the source. Average power consumption has dropped to 35–50 W, making it roughly 50% more efficient than the previous generation.

Weight is down as well. Starlink V5 comes in at just 2.4 pounds — about 1.1 kg — which the source says is 62% less than V4. The device is also rated to operate in winds of up to 165 miles per hour, or about 265 km/h, giving it more resilience in extreme weather.

Alongside the terminal, the company also introduced a compact Router Mini with Wi‑Fi 6 support and mesh networking capability.

According to the company, the changes are meant to make Starlink hardware easier to install and help speed deployment, especially in remote areas.
