Xiaomi unveils AC that runs from -35°C to +65°C

Xiaomi has opened preorders for a central AC built for 30–40 sq. m spaces, with claimed power savings of up to 30% versus its predecessor.

Xiaomi has opened preorders for the Mi Home Central Air Conditioner Mega Energy Saving Pro, a central air-conditioning system designed for 30–40 square meter rooms and built to keep working in extreme temperatures from -35 °C to +65 °C.

The company is pitching the new model around energy efficiency. According to Xiaomi, the combination of its Mijia Lingyun intelligent module and an AI-based power-saving mode can cut electricity use by up to 30% compared with the previous generation.

The hardware includes a three-row evaporator, an enlarged two-row condenser with 18% more heat-exchange area than the previous model, a dual-cylinder compressor with a minimum operating frequency of 8 Hz, and a 556 mm fan.

Xiaomi lists the unit’s rated cooling capacity at 7,580 W and heating capacity at 10,000 W. In heating mode, it can operate at outdoor temperatures as low as -35 °C; in cooling mode, it can run at up to +65 °C.

The package includes a smart control panel that lets users manage climate settings across the home with one touch and tie the system into the Mijia ecosystem. Xiaomi says the built-in AI diagnostic system monitors more than 120 possible faults, including dirty heat exchangers, low refrigerant, and hardware failures, and alerts the owner when problems are detected.

The air conditioner also supports Xiaomi Surge Connect, Xiao Ai voice control, remote control through the Mi Home app, and regular OTA updates. In China, pricing starts at about $820 after government subsidies.
