Xiaomi has introduced Xiaomi-Robotics-1, its first foundation model for embodied AI and robotics, positioning it as a production-ready system for a range of robots.

According to the company, the model was trained on 100,000 hours of real-world data. It combines large-scale pretraining with follow-up training across different robotic platforms, an approach Xiaomi says lets the system handle a variety of mobile manipulation tasks in previously unseen real-world environments.

Xiaomi says Xiaomi-Robotics-1 posted strong results on widely used robotics AI evaluation platforms, taking first place in the RoboCasa365 and RoboDojo rankings.

The company also said it plans to fully open-source the model and release its weights in the near future. Xiaomi argues that doing so could speed up work on general-purpose foundation models for robots and help push embodied AI toward broader deployment.
