Apple spotlights Watch SOS after biking crash
Apple shared a video about a cyclist whose Apple Watch called emergency services after a crash left him unconscious.

Apple is highlighting the Apple Watch SOS feature with a new video centered on Phil, a mountain biker who crashed while riding with his two young children.
According to Apple, Phil was knocked unconscious in the accident. His Apple Watch detected the fall, automatically called emergency services, and alerted his wife. Apple says that response helped rescuers find him quickly because the watch provided his location.
Phil suffered a broken collarbone and seven broken ribs, and spent a week in the hospital. At the end of the video, he says:
“Just really glad that I had my Apple Watch on.”
Apple Watch can detect serious falls and vehicle crashes, and is designed to contact emergency services when the wearer is unconscious or otherwise unable to call for help. It can also notify a user’s designated emergency contacts.
