Google Calendar just made managing time zones less of a headache, especially for frequent travelers juggling meetings across regions. Instead of scrolling through the usual endless list of time zones to set an event, users can now simply type in a location to find and apply the right time zone. This smart update streamlines the scheduling process for anyone who deals with multiple zones.
While Google Calendar has long detected your current time zone automatically, manually switching to a specific region’s time zone required hunting through a cumbersome list. This change lets you search or input a place name directly, making it much faster to set or adjust calendars. The feature started rolling out on March 12, 2024, to users in Rapid Release domains, with a Scheduled Release rollout beginning April 5, 2024, and finishing shortly thereafter.
