MSI has introduced new GeForce RTX 5060 graphics cards that use the GB205 GPU normally associated with the RTX 5070. The company’s new lineup can be loosely described as GeForce RTX 5060 V1, and it includes the Gaming and Ventus 2X models.
These cards mainly differ in design. In practice, they are standard entry-level RTX 5060 variants in compact form factors, each using a cooling system with two fans.
The notable change is under the hood: instead of the GB206 GPU typically used for the RTX 5060, MSI has fitted these cards with GB205, the chip that also underpins the RTX 5070.

According to the source, the chip has of course been cut down to GB206-level specifications, and unlocking those disabled parts is no longer considered possible.
