Opera says its Opera One for iOS browser is gaining traction with iPhone users in both the US and the UK. In a press release published today, the company said monthly active users on iOS grew 50% in the US and 93% in the UK in Q2 2026 compared with the same period last year.
The company said the latest gains build on momentum it reported after the Digital Markets Act forced Apple to add a browser-choice screen on iOS. Opera previously said Opera One for iOS grew 42% across Europe, with France up 103%.
Opera attributed the newer growth in the US and UK to users actively choosing the browser and continuing to use it because of its features. In its release, the company pointed to a recent update that adds:
- an updated sync system for tabs, bookmarks, and passwords between desktop and iPhone
- media controls in the tab interface, showing which tabs are playing audio and letting users mute or unmute them
- new AI features, including multimodal prompts and file uploads directly from iPhone
Opera also said retention is being helped by several built-in features, including a free unlimited VPN, improved tab management, a native ad blocker, and its integrated AI tools.
