Samsung has begun testing a new One UI 8.5 firmware build for the Galaxy S26 series, according to leaker Tarun Vats, who spotted a fresh test build — U4AZG7 — on the company’s servers. It replaces the current stable version, S4AZG5.

A published screenshot indicates the firmware is based on Android 16 and uses bootloader version v4. The release is expected to include the August Android security patch, along with bug fixes and broader system stability improvements.

Samsung has not officially announced a release date for the new firmware. Still, the appearance of a test build suggests the update is getting close.
