Spotify Adds AI Chat to Its Mobile App
Spotify is rolling out a beta AI chat feature for eligible Premium users in the US, Ireland, and Sweden on iOS and Android.

Spotify is adding new AI assistant features to its mobile app, letting users ask contextual questions about the music, podcasts, and audiobooks they’re listening to. The company says the feature supports a “back-and-forth conversation” inside the app and is now rolling out to beta users.
In a video preview, Spotify shows a text box in the middle of the beta app labeled “Ask for some music” or “Talk to Spotify.” Users can type questions such as “how many times have I listened to Bad Bunny?”
During testing, CNET saw a warning message that said: “You’re about to talk to AI, which can make mistakes. Don’t share sensitive data.”

Spotify has been steadily expanding its use of AI beyond recommendation algorithms. The company has already introduced an AI DJ, AI playlists, and an AI spam filter aimed at deepfaked and misleading content. Apple, meanwhile, offers its own Playlist Playground feature.
Spotify did not immediately respond to CNET’s request for more detail on the rollout.
For now, Talk to Spotify is available in beta to eligible Premium users 18 and older in the US, Ireland, and Sweden, on iOS and Android.
