TCL has unveiled the 27C2A Pro, a 27-inch gaming monitor featuring Mini LED backlighting and advanced specs aimed at gamers and creators alike, all at a relatively affordable price. The monitor offers a 4K resolution panel with a 160Hz refresh rate alongside a Full HD competitive mode running at 320Hz. Priced at 3,367 yuan (around $488), it is now available in China.

The display features 2,304 local dimming zones, delivering deep contrast with minimal haloing around bright objects. It supports a 1ms gray-to-gray response time to reduce motion blur effectively.

TCL states the peak HDR brightness can reach 2,000 nits. While sustained brightness for full-screen HDR is not specified, the HDR1400 certification indicates at least 900 nits in more demanding scenarios-matching some high-end gaming monitors.

The 27C2A Pro covers 99% of the DCI-P3 color gamut and offers excellent color accuracy with a ΔE below 2, making it suitable for color-critical tasks such as photo editing and video production as well as gaming.

Connectivity options include:

  • Two HDMI 2.1 ports
  • One DisplayPort 1.4
  • Two USB-A ports
  • One USB-C port with up to 90W power delivery
  • 3.5mm audio jack

The adjustable stand supports height, tilt, swivel, and can rotate the screen 90 degrees into portrait mode, which is useful for multi-monitor setups or creative workflows.

Additional AI-powered gaming features include color inversion on the crosshair and automatic brightness boost in dark scenes to improve visibility during gameplay.

Mini LED gaming monitors with 4K resolution and ultra-high refresh rates usually come from premium brands like ASUS, LG, and Samsung with prices above $1,000. TCL’s 27C2A Pro challenges this by offering similar advanced features at a much more budget-friendly price. Its performance outside China will determine whether TCL can disrupt the premium gaming monitor segment globally.
