Tecno is gearing up to refresh its budget smartphone lineup with the upcoming Spark 50 5G. A teaser surfaced on Instagram, revealing a sneak peek at the device and hinting at an imminent launch.
The teaser only shows a corner of the phone’s rear, but that’s enough to spot notable design tweaks. The camera module has shifted to a horizontal layout on a subtly raised platform, giving the device a cleaner, more modern look than previous Spark models.
The headline feature for the Spark 50 5G is, of course, 5G connectivity. Tecno’s earlier Spark 40 series largely stuck to 4G chips from MediaTek’s Helio G lineup, with the rare exception of the Spark Go (marketed globally as the Spark 40 5G), which used a Dimensity 6400 processor. With the Spark 50 5G, Tecno is making a stronger push into the budget 5G segment-a important move for markets like India where 5G networks are quickly becoming the norm even for affordable smartphones.
Leaks suggest the Spark 50 5G will pack a hefty battery ranging between 6,150 and 6,500 mAh depending on the variant, promising solid all-day autonomy.

Memory configurations are expected to be flexible, offering between 4GB and 8GB of RAM alongside up to 256GB of internal storage. That’s standard fare for its price tier but provides enough choice for users with different needs.
The chipset remains under wraps for now, which will be a key factor shaping the phone’s daily performance.
Overall, the Tecno Spark 50 5G looks like a sensible evolution of last year’s model-no dramatic overhaul, but meaningful improvements where it counts. Tecno is reportedly planning to officially unveil the phone around March 27, so expect full specs and pricing details soon.
