Amazon buyer ordered one Intel CPU, got five instead
An Amazon customer in Japan ordered one Intel Core i5-14400 but received a box containing five. The extra chips were worth more than $1,000 in total.

An Amazon customer in Japan ordered a single Intel Core i5-14400 and ended up receiving a shipping box containing five of the 10-core processors instead.
The buyer shared photos of the order on social media. According to the report, the most likely explanation is a warehouse mistake: staff may have treated a transport box holding five CPUs as a single retail unit because of the barcode on the outer packaging. Amazon has not officially confirmed the cause.
Despite suggestions from other users to keep the extra chips or sell them, the customer contacted Amazon support. The company asked for the incorrectly shipped items to be returned, and the buyer agreed to send back the four surplus processors.
In Japan, one Core i5-14400 currently sells for about 36,000 yen, or $220. That puts the value of the full five-CPU box at more than $1,000.
