Samsung has pushed a new Windows update for Samsung Browser, and the headline feature is simple: you can now install websites as apps. The new build, 30.0.1.40, also patches several security vulnerabilities, which is the less glamorous part but probably the more useful one.

The feature is not a full-blown desktop app system dressed up in a trench coat. Installed sites behave more like upgraded bookmarks than independent software, but that is still enough to make a handful of frequently used services feel less like tabs and more like pinned tools. For Samsung, it is another small attempt to make its browser feel relevant on Windows, where Chrome, Edge, and a crowd of Chromium-based competitors already fight for attention.
