Samsung sets July 22 Unpacked for foldables and watches

Samsung will hold its next Galaxy Unpacked event on July 22, with the livestream starting at 9AM ET / 6 AM PT. The company is hosting the launch in London, and viewers will be able to watch on Samsung’s website or the Samsung YouTube channel.

With the Galaxy S26 lineup already unveiled earlier this year, the focus now appears to be on foldables and wearables.

According to leaks and rumors cited by Engadget, Samsung’s biggest foldable change could be a new aspect ratio. The current ultra-slim Galaxy Z Fold 7 looks much like a standard smartphone when closed, but a rumored “wide” Galaxy Z Fold 8 may adopt a more passport-like shape intended to improve video viewing when open. Engadget says the design is allegedly similar to Apple’s rumored foldable.

That model may be sold alongside the Galaxy Flip 8 and a Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, with the Ultra said to keep the same aspect ratio as the current Z Fold 7. All three phones are expected to get updated Snapdragon chips, while the Ultra could also bring faster wireless charging and a less noticeable crease. Engadget also points to new colors and “RAMaggedon”-influenced pricing.

Samsung is also expected to introduce the Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2. While the designs may stay close to last year’s models, both watches are rumored to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Wear Elite chip. The Ultra 2 could also include a larger 800mAh battery.

There may be more than phones and watches at the event. Samsung is working with Google, Warby Parker and Gentle Monster on smartglasses, which Google demonstrated at I/O 2026. Those glasses are not expected to be available until the fall, but Samsung could share more details on those collaborations on July 22.
