Vivo T5 Lite 5G packs 6,500mAh battery

Vivo’s new budget 5G phone for India pairs a 6,500mAh battery and IP65 rating with a 120Hz LCD, starting at 19,999 rupees.

Vivo has launched the T5 Lite 44W 5G in India, leaning hard on the features that tend to matter most in the budget segment: battery life and durability. The phone combines a 6,500mAh battery, 44W charging, IP65 protection, and MIL-STD-810H certification, while 5G support is now expected even in lower-cost models.

The tradeoff is clear. Vivo includes a 6.74-inch LCD with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1,200 nits peak brightness in High Brightness Mode, but resolution is limited to HD+ 1600 × 720. At a starting price close to 20,000 rupees, that stands out, especially as some rivals in the same range offer Full HD+ panels.

Vivo says the battery will retain at least 80% of its capacity after 1,600 charge cycles. The company also claims the phone can charge from 1% to 50% in 38 minutes, which is a practical selling point for a device with a battery this large.

Other key specs include:

  • MediaTek Dimensity 6300 built on a 6nm process
  • 4GB or 6GB LPDDR4X RAM
  • 128GB or 256GB UFS 2.2 storage
  • microSD support up to 2TB
  • 50MP main camera and 5MP front camera
  • Side-mounted fingerprint scanner
  • 3.5mm headphone jack
  • Android 16

There is also an RGB light on the rear for notifications. Camera hardware is basic: a 50MP main sensor, a 0.08MP secondary sensor, and a 5MP selfie camera in a waterdrop notch. The phone weighs 209g and is 8.39mm thick.

Vivo says the device runs Android 16 with Origin OS 6.0. Software extras include text generation, audio transcription, and Private Space for storing files in a separate protected area.

Pricing and availability

Sales in India begin on July 22 through Flipkart, Vivo’s online store, and offline retail channels. The phone comes in Twilight Shadow and Wave Blue.

Pricing is set at:

  • 19,999 rupees for 4GB/128GB
  • 21,999 rupees for 6GB/128GB
  • 24,999 rupees for 6GB/256GB

That leaves Vivo with a straightforward pitch: buyers willing to accept an HD+ display in exchange for long battery life and a tougher body.
