Android 17 Beta 4 is out for Pixel phones, and Google is treating it like the last stop before the public release expected in the next couple of months. The update is free, over the air, and available on compatible Pixel devices starting with the Pixel 6, plus the Pixel Tablet and even the Pixel 10a.
That makes this less of a shiny preview and more of a cleanup pass. Beta 2 was already described as relatively stable, so Beta 4 is mostly about sanding down the rough edges that still manage to annoy people who actually use their phones for, you know, phone things.
Android 17 Beta 4 build and supported Pixels
Google says Android 17 Beta 4 arrives as build CP21.260330.008 for all devices in the program. The oldest supported phone is the Pixel 6, and the release also covers the Pixel Tablet. For anyone on the fence, the beta has to be joined manually, but once you do that the update should land automatically as an OTA download.

That broad support matters because this is one of the few times older Pixels still get to ride along near the finish line. Manufacturers love talking about long software support; beta programs are where that promise gets stress-tested.
