Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Apple’s first foldable iPhone Ultra look surprisingly similar in newly shared mockups from well-known leaker UniverseIce.

According to the report, Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone Ultra in September 2026. The device is said to use a book-style foldable design, with a 7.8-inch inner display, a 5.5-inch outer screen, two 48-megapixel cameras, and the new Apple A20 Pro chip.

The report says the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 is expected to arrive at roughly the same time, though it should launch earlier. Samsung’s next foldable is expected to keep pushing the company’s established Fold line with a refined design, improved hinge durability, and the multitasking features that have long been a strength of One UI.

The side-by-side mockups suggest the two devices could easily be mistaken for phones from the same brand. Even the camera modules appear similar.

The source also notes a key difference behind the visuals: Samsung has spent years building foldable phones, while Apple’s first foldable may face the usual first-generation challenges around optimization and reliability.
