Google has opened a limited signup window for Pixel Care+ for people in the US who already own a Pixel 9 or Pixel 10 device. The offer runs through August 2 and is available through the Google Store or the My Pixel app, as long as the phone is fully functional and shows no signs of damage.

Eligible models include Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, Pixel 9a, Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10a. The plan includes $0 screen and battery repairs, unlimited accidental damage protection, and optional coverage for loss or theft.

There are clear limits. The phone must be a US version and must be in working condition at the time of signup. Google says devices with cracked screens, liquid damage, or mechanical faults will not be accepted, so owners cannot damage a phone and then enroll afterward.

The move gives late buyers a way to add protection after missing the usual enrollment window. It also follows a familiar industry model: Apple sells AppleCare+ for iPhone, including loss and theft coverage in the US, while Samsung offers Samsung Care+ with similar repair and replacement options.

For phone makers, these plans add recurring revenue after the hardware sale. For buyers, they cover the kind of accidental damage a standard warranty does not. For Google, the program may also help keep users more tightly tied to the Pixel ecosystem as flagship phones get more expensive.

The source notes that this could become a permanent option after August 2, depending on how willing Pixel 9 and Pixel 10 owners are to pay for protection after buying their phones.
