Xiaomi’s next budget phone may lean hard into battery life. A new leak, published by YtechB, reportedly shows the REDMI 17 4G in detail, with the standout spec being a 7,500mAh battery — a notable figure for a low-cost handset.

According to the leak, Xiaomi has reworked the rear camera area with a wider module and a light element resembling a light ring. The phone is expected to keep a dual rear camera setup, matching the REDMI 15 4G, which had a main camera and an auxiliary sensor.

The report says the device could launch in Deep Blue, Black, Oak Green, and possibly Lotus Purple. It is also said to be large even by budget-phone standards, measuring 170.12 × 78.42 × 8.8 mm and weighing about 232 grams, with the battery likely accounting for much of that heft.

REDMI 17 4G leaked specifications

The leaked specs include:

  • Display: 6.9-inch LCD, 1600 × 720, 120Hz
  • Processor: MediaTek Helio G91 Ultra
  • Memory: 4GB or 6GB RAM
  • Storage: 128GB or 256GB
  • Rear camera: 50MP main camera plus auxiliary sensor
  • Front camera: 8MP
  • Battery: 7,500mAh, 45W charging
  • Software: HyperOS 3.0 based on Android 16

The 6.9-inch HD+ LCD and 120Hz refresh rate fit the ultra-budget segment, though the source notes that image sharpness may be limited at that size and resolution. Internally, the phone is expected to use the Helio G91 Ultra, described as a close variant of the standard G91 with some tweaks, including camera ISP changes. For comparison, the REDMI 15 4G used the Snapdragon 685.

Pricing and likely competition

Battery and charging appear to be the clearest upgrade. The predecessor offered 7,000mAh and 33W charging; this leak points to 7,500mAh and 45W.

Pricing is tipped at about €250 for the 4GB/128GB version and around €280 for the 256GB model. At that level, the REDMI 17 4G would compete with the Galaxy A16 4G, realme C-series devices, and several POCO models as Xiaomi prepares for sales in Europe’s still-crowded sub-€300 market.
